Song Craft II

Write a Song You Love in Six Weeks

You’ve always been a writer, creative, or storyteller. You’ve got the best playlists in your group chat. You’ve started writing songs countless times, but you’re not sure how to finish them. Maybe you’ve played open mics, but your songs don’t fully light you up yet. You feel like something’s missing in your process. You encounter creative resistance and it keeps you from finishing — or even starting — your songs.

Song Craft II

A Songwriting Workshop for Femme + Non-Binary Budding Musicians

Dates: Sundays—April 27, May 4, 11, 18, 25, June 1 (3–4:30 PM EST)
Price: $250 Early Bird (thru April 12) | $300 Regular
Who It’s For: Magical beings seeking an outlet to express and heal through music.
This is the second course in the “Song Craft” series, open to past attendees or folks who are currently—or have just started—writing songs.

🪞In our time together, we’ll:

Explore how to craft your unique voice as a songwriter
Study the greats—how they write lyrics, melodies, and chords
Experiment with songwriting as a ritual (a daily practice) and songs as spells (something we create that’s outside of us, that maybe just maybe we can learn from).

By the end of Song Craft II, you’ll...

Have a song you love—and the tools to keep going
Have shifted your relationship to your creative resistance
Leave with a deeper understanding of song structure, theory, and what makes songs tick Have started making a demo of your fav song from our class (!!!)

🪞 Songwriting can be a portal.

A way to move through your life. It’s my dream for you that by the end of our time together you’ll be able to hold music making lightly and use songwriting as a tool to heal and to have fun making stuff.

From Past Participants

“Melissa provided a welcoming, warm, and encouraging environment to try something new. Prompts given to spark ideas were creative and made tackling writing my first ever song, a much more approachable task. So glad I found this class!”
